A total of 271 productions were reviewed on StageSceneLA in 2012.

Of those productions, Los Angeles County-based productions represent approximately three out of every four StageSceneLA reviews.  Over 90% of StageSceneLA reviews were for productions in the geographical area covered by the Ovation and Los Angeles Drama Circle awards.  Only 8½% were for “day-trips” outside this area.

The largest percentage of Los Angeles County-based reviews are in the Hollywood/West Hollywood area, though 10 distinct areas in Los Angeles County offered significant numbers of plays and musicals to Los Angeles theatergoers.

Though musicals represent the largest percentage of productions reviewed, over half of all StageSceneLA reviews are for straight plays (Comedy, Comedy-Drama, Drama, and Solo Performances.)
