The Co-Op is presenting all three Nibroc Trilogy plays--Arlene Hutton's delightful 3-part look at a couple (Gary Clemmer as Raleigh and Staci Michelle Armao as May) who meet cute and fall in love during WWII (Last Train to Nibroc), settle down to a married life in Kentucky with respective mothers (Bonnie Bailey-Reed and Linda Kerns) in law (See Rock City), and move down to Florida in the early 50s (Gulf View Drive). It's Gulf View Drive (also featuring Deborah Lynn Meier as sister-in-law Treva) that's the World Premiere (the only 2-acter among them) and the one I liked the best (though all are excellent and worth seeing). Gary Clemmer is particularly stellar (goofy and sincere and loveable) as Raleigh, and Bonnie Bailey-Reed gives the performance of a lifetime as Raleigh's delightfully complaining (for her, every cloud has a dark lining) mother. 50s Florida is beautifully evoked in the set and costume design and the TV/song sound clips of the era. Kudos to director Marianne Savell and the entire cast and production team.
