Broadway vets Cindy Robinson and Enrique Brown (the latter flew in from New York just for this run) dazzle in a newly conceived 2 person production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Song and Dance (actually an expanded version of the original one-act Tell Me on a Sunday). The antithesis of Webber's usual big cast, big orchestra, big set bombast, this is the intimate story of a young Brit (Robinson) in New York and L.A. and the men in her life (all danced by Brown).
Robinson proves herself a true triple threat (A+ for her acting/singing/dancing) and Browns sexy balletic moves and chemistry with Robinson show why he's an in-demand Broadway gypsy. Kudos to director Jim Alexander's captivating reworking of this early ALW show, which features two of his best songs (Unexpected Song, Tell Me on a Sunday). (A guest production at Deaf West Theatre on Lankershim in NoHo). MARCH 2007, DEAF WEST THEATRE, NORTH HOLLYWOOD.
