This production of Maxwell Anderson’s “classic potboiler” sticks pretty much to the original text but camps it up as outrageously as something you’d see on Mad TV. Director/star Danny Schmitz and his band of mostly Minnesota maniacs have started a new tradition: take an old chestnut and play it for laughs. 30something Schmitz dons brown pigtails to play Rhoda, the most outrageous 8-year-old in memory. Mo Collins gives a performance so deliberately uncontrolled and outrageous to be in a class of its own is. Hefty Monica Breedlove (with a foot-high black bouffant do to match her Rubenesque form) is scrumptiously played by a fearless Cheryl Hawker. As “your facilitator,” tanktopped and short-shorted Kyle Blitch proves himself to be eye candy...and a deft comedian. Outrageous in the extreme, and a total ball, this is one show you’ll kick yourself if you miss!
